Before you apply, make sure you review the Admissions Overview. You MUST meet all the requirements before applying. All the important details are below. Pura Vida!
In order to negotiate the slower infrastructure in the rainforest, the student application process requires several steps. Here is the process:
- Read the CRSMT Policies and Procedures. Here is the download
- Fill out the electronic CRSMT Application completely, and submit it. Be sure to enter a user name and password as this may take longer than one sitting, and you may need to access your incomplete application. Once Submitted, the Admissions Office will receive your application immediately, will confirm receipt via email, and start to build your application package.
- Pay the $100 non-refundable application fee via PayPal. You will receive instructions once your application is received.
- Fax all requested inclusions to CRSMT at (866) 857-9790.If you are applying from outside the U.S. or from Alaska, please contact the Admissions Office for an alternate fax number. You may also scan and email all requested items if that is more convenient. Requested items include:
- Copy of High School Transcript or GED Certificate.
- Letter of Sound Physical Health from a Physician, Nurse practitioner, or Alternative Doctor.
- Letter expressing your intention and commitment to completion of the program, including a brief biographical sketch explaining your motivation to pursue a career in Massage Therapy and to live in the remote jungles and beaches of Costa Rica for 4 months.
- A recent photo of yourself. You can e-mail this to info@someotherplanet.com.
- Documentation of 3 received massages. This can be a paragraph written by you describing your experiences.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- A copy of your Drivers License or Passport.
- Mail all requested materials to the CRSMT U.S. Post Office Address: CRSMT - 191 University Blvd. # 249
Denver, CO 80206 USA Note: All Mail will be forwarded to Costa Rica. Please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery.
- Once your application package has been received electronically, and reviewed, and if you have met the student criteria; you will be contacted for an interview. Interviews will be via telephone or Skype conference.
- If you are accepted into the program, you will receive an Enrollment Package via Email within 3 days of your interview. This will include attachments that require your immediate attention and must be completed and promptly returned to the CRSMT Office of Admissions.
- To secure your space in the program, CRSMT must receive a $3,500.00 Enrollment Deposit by wire transfer. This payment is applied to the total tuition. If this payment is initiated within 10 days of being accepted, you will save $250 off of this payment.
- The second tuition installment of $4475 is due 60 days in advance of the start date of the term. This payment includes the $600 payment for the required text book package and standard U.S. shipping and handling.
- The third and final tuition installment of $5375 is due received by CRSMT at least 30 days in advance of the start date of the term.
- Students securing their enrollment 4 months in advance of the term they wish to attend will save an additional $1000 off of their tuition.
- Students who pay all fees within 10 days of being accepted will receive their text book and materials package for free. This is a $600 value.
- Approximately one month prior to the start date of class, you will receive your package of text books. You will carry your own books to Costa Rica. Additionally, you will receive information about everything you will need to know to prepare for your travel to Costa Rica and the program.
Please keep in mind that there are a only 20 student vacancies for each term. Apply as far in advance as possible to ensure your space. If there is no space available for the term you are applying for, you will be contacted by the Office of Admissions to discuss other options. |
